I volunteered to make a block for Crazy Mom Quilts: Quilts of Valor. And believe it or not I made the block the same day I got the email. It is a bit wow I know. But I like it. The background fabric is actually a navy blue and white. I had a difficult time deciding on fabrics. I realized I did not have very many red, white, and blue fabrics in my stash as I thought I did. Hopefully this block will end up getting used in the quilt but if not it was a fun learning experience anyway :)
I used this tutorial, which was provided for us in the blog posting, it was really easy to follow. 
I am seeing stars now when I look at my fabrics :)

I love your block! I especially love that you used stuff from your stash that didn't have the "Americana-ish" theme. Way to go!
