Completed projects

Roller blind (purchased from Ikea) for Colin's room installed. Which has resulted in much longer nap times :o)

Sheer window coverings for both the small side windows of the bay window. Now it's not scary to be in the living room alone.

Lilly apron complete. I wore it tonight while making Beer Cheese Soup, good thing I did cause I already got food on it. The pattern was fairly easy to read, only one minor mistake which turned out for the better I think. I didn't sew on two additional pieces to the ties, I missed that part in the instructions, and by the time I noticed I decided it was just fine the way it was. It's a really cute apron that covers really well, but for my body type it is not at all flattering.

Spare a Square Scrap Challenge- still working on the project but I finally figured out what I am doing and am almost done. I hope it turns out as good as I imagine it.

Roloff Farm Pumpkin patch- the weather was perfect and we found a very nice pumpkin and had a wonderful time. There was a bit of a wait to get into the parking lot but once we got into the pumpkin patch it didn't seem like there was that many people there.
Picture taken while waiting in the line to get into the farm.
Picking out a pumpkin just his size.
The family.

Tanner's dog jacket-My cousin Tiffany came for a visit this last weekend we went to fabric depot with Sarah and she found a Simplicty pattern for a dog jacket/sweater. So guess what we did. I have never made clothes before so figuring out the sleeves took a bit but they turned out great. the only problem was that we sewd the neck on wrong, our seem was on the outside. I of course wanted to take it apart and redo it, but Tiffany didn't want to. So we added a ribbon and a bow to cover it up.

Outdoor chairs- I can't remember if I blogged about this or not. If I did please excuess me. We went with apple green spray paint. We have one chair done and three more to do. Unfortunatly the fall weather is already here so we will probably finish the chairs in the spring/summer.
I think the chair looks pretty good with the dark brown table. Please ignore all the tools in the background.

Home made baby food- I have made zucchini, acorn squash, carrots, and apples. So far Colin likes the squash and the apples, he will get to try the carrots tomorrow. Lucky us, the vegetables were provided by my moms organic garden and the local grocery store had organic apples. I wish I knew of a local apple orchard where we could go and pick our own. That would so much fun.
Beer Cheese Soup (I forgot to post about this in the original post)-
I love beer cheese soup! Christina has the best recipe for home made beer cheese soup I have ever had. I didn't ask her permission to share it so if you are interested in it head on over to here and email her. Maybe if enough people ask for it she will post it. Also, she has some other great recipes on her blog so check those out too.

Well, that is a big list, makes me feel like I got some stuff done. I will try and take some photos of projects that i didn't have photos for. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Win this Lizzy Anne quilt

Head on over to here, for a chance to win an amazing quilt. It is a Lizzy Anne original quilt and it is gorgeous. She is also giving away a second and third prize which is the pattern to make this amazing quilt. I would love to win, it would be great to cozy up in it during the gray weather season that is fast approaching us in the northwest. Good luck to everyone.

Adventuours maybe?

I have been inspired by the many bloggers who sell their home made goods on Etsy and have opened my own shop. Is this adventurous of me? Maybe or it could just be another silly life experience we will see. I am trying to designate specific time to create some really cute stuff to sell in the shop. I have all these great ideas so hopefully i will put them to fabric very soon. So check out the shop if you feel so inclined. If you think of something you would like to see in it let me know and I will do my best to full fill your request.

Little People Big World

This Saturday we are heading off to Roloff Farms to go t0 their pumpkin patch. You may be familiar with their TV show Little People Big World. It airs on TLC and I have been a fan since the beginning. We went last year on the last weekend of pumpkin sales and there was hardly any pumpkins left so I am hoping that we will have better luck this year. Either way it will be fun taking Colin to his first pumpkin patch and dressing him up in his costume. I am just hoping their will be a patch to take his picture in. It's a short drive from where I live and it's nice to support a local farm and if we get to see the family that's just a bonus. So I guess for us in this one instance the world is not that big to have a favorite TV show of mine be filmed right here in our extended neighborhood. Hopefully I will have some great pictures to share with everyone either Saturday night or Sunday sometime.

-Christina, Sarah, or any other friends interested in going?
